Estimation of cementation factor for a field of around Brack sandstone Reservoir

Estimation of cementation factor is one of the most important factors in determining the hydrocarbon/water saturations. In order to determine this factor accurately, core sample porosity, formation water resistivity and resistivity of the core sample hundred percent saturated by formation water, were performed using the Archie equation. The objective of this petro physical study is to obtain a more realistic cementation factor for some sandstone reservoir core samples. cross-plots between formation resistivity factor and porosity were created for measured data points The values of internal geometry factor a and cementation factor m were obtained from the cross –plots for each field .the cross-plots showed a good relationship between the two properties F & Ø where the standard error for the actual data points was calculated for a field .This is mainly due to the internal heterogeneity and more fractures in the Brack sandstone formation of fieldQ. Also the percentage average relative errors between the humble equation and the actual data points and the new correlation and the actual data points were calculated for this field
